As I talked about before, I used to play collegiate volleyball and was constantly working out. I had practice 6 times a week and a lift on top of that. I was probably burning 1,000 calories a day or more to be honest. Well, ever since COVID my workout schedule has been quite rough. It is hard for me to push myself to workout everyday since I am no longer playing volleyball. Fitness seemed like a chore to me and not something I actually enjoyed. Well lately I have gotten into walking… Which seems like not a legit workout but it really is! I go to the gym and I walk on an incline for an hour and leave feeling exhausted. I burn over 600 calories by just doing that! I seriously feel like that is my time to just walk and think about life. It is so peaceful to me and I feel at ease when I do it. If any of you are struggling with working out, I highly recommend you join me on walking! You will be better mentally and physically. You will be surprised by how much you sweat from walking on an incline!

Why walking is better than running:

“Incline walking increases the workload, raising the heartrate without having to risk aggravation of injury by running. Walking on an incline increases leg muscle activation, stimulating the muscles of the calves, hamstrings and glutes”( Iowa Heart Center).
